Who knew knees got wrinkles?

Who knew knees got wrinkles?

Loss of skin firmness is not just a concern for your face. I also is the reason for those wrinkly knees and elbows, dreaded cleavage creases, rings around your neck & more. Yuck.

Can anything be done to help this?  I find dry brushing your body daily, before your bath or shower, seems to help.  There are also yummy foods that can help from the inside out!  Here are a few:

Kale and Spinachimages

Kale & Spinach:  Beautiful deep green & tasty, these leafy veggies contain special phytonutrients, or antioxidant compounds, that help guard against damage caused by the sun. Spinach and kale are low in calories, high in fiber, supporting healthy digestion and weight loss or maintenance.

Spinach is loaded with beta-carotene and lutein, nutrients that have been shown to improve skin elasticity, according to a study in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry. Spinach is also loaded with flavinoids, which can aid in the prevention of cancer & fiber. Fiber aids in healthy digestion, helps you feel full longer and reduces hunger cravings, and helps maintain low blood sugar.

Kale has been trendy for the last few years and for good reason, it’s an awesome multi-tasker.  Kale is packed with vitamins A, C, E and K, which are all  anti-aging vitamins. Kale also has anti-inflammatory benefits that can reduce bloating and that dreaded morning puffiness in the face. (Seriously, who else doesn’t want to look anyone in the eye until after 10 am??) What’s more is that Kale is loaded with minerals, like magnesium and calcium, essential for healthy skin. It’s also got copper, which boosts the synthesis of melanin (a pigment that protects your skin from the sun).

Studies suggest it doesn’t take pounds of kale or spinach to get a benefit! Just three cups of either kale or spinach, or a combination of both, per week!  If you don’t like to eat salads, pop some on your sandwiches or try juicing.
