Having trouble remembering where you put your glasses? How about walking into a room and blanking out? The good news is, it’s normal.  The bad news is, it’s gonna get worse.

Human’s memory speed decline approximately 2% per decade starting in your 20s. Besides brain games & puzzles is there anything that can be done to keep memory sharper longer? Yes!

You can feed your mind with healthy foods that curb inflammation and oxidation.  According to a study at Rush University Medical Center in 2015, making sure to include healthy fats and antioxidants in your diet may reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s by approximately 53%!

Here are top picks for brain food!mind

LEAFY GREENS – Enjoy 2 servings each day of these deep green lovelies, spinach, kale, romaine, broccoli and more!

NUTS – Raw almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, and so many others.

BLUEBERRIES – One of the best antioxidants available and yummy too!

OLIVE OIL – There is a lot of research pointing to oleocanthal found in virgin olive oil, may help to reduce build up of amyloid proteins, which are thought to be behind Alzheimer’s.

SALMON – Eating a fish loaded with good fat, like salmon, at least once a week provides omega-3, which increases the DHA levels in our blood.  Folks with higher levels of DHA in their blood perform better on cognitive tests.

It really doesn’t take much effort to support your brain through diet.  Fatty fish once a week, 2 daily servings of leafy greens, 5 servings of nuts per week, 2 cups of fruits and 2 1/2 cups of vegetables per day (perhaps sauteed in olive oil!) and you’re on your way!
